Taking A Love Break

Tuesday, February 8, 2011

I'm gonna take a little love break to love on my littles and do some Valentine's crafts crafts with them. See you Thursday for details and how-tos on said crafts!
I also plan on us eating a bucket full of sugary treats. I'm pretty sure it's a must for Valentine crafting.

Are you gettin' your craft on for Valentine's?  Whatcha makin'? xo

Right Around The Corner...

Thursday, February 3, 2011

I so desire to have a LOVE party this month with a few of my good friends. But with all this sickness...don't know if it will come to fruition. I, however, believe that a LOVE party can be held any day or month of the year. Right? My very favorite thing to do every February is to eat my weight in cheap boxed chocolates. I love poking holes in the bottoms of them and seeing what they're filled with before dropping them into my pie-hole!

How will you be celebrating Valentine's this year?

new love pillows

There's more coming, but I'd love for you to take a look at the new stuff and tell me what you think! It has been so much fun creating stuff for Valentine's. Funny...I never really liked the holiday all that much before. What do you think...wonderful holiday to celebrate love or just another Hallmark guilt trip? xo

It's Almost Here...

Thursday, February 11, 2010

Remember I said I was gonna go a little nuts this Valentine's Day? Well, nuts for me on this holiday and that of the average romantic joe are probably two totally different things.  I think I mentioned before that I usually don't give in to this holiday.  But I just can't help it this year.  Love is in the air at my house, with my friends, at our church and all over the internet (at least the places I go.) I thought I would share a few things that I'm lovin' right now and sometimes always:

*My husband - he's the greatest and really cute.

*Our boys - very silly.
*Coffee and Peanut butter (not necessarily together.)

*This hearts banner from the Dollar Tree. ($1.00 - really?)

*Our Valentine inspired entryway table with my new handmade hearts!

*Our church - always!

Handmade Valentines

Friday, February 5, 2010

I love going to the book store, grabbing a heap of magazines and losing myself in the images. Whenever I need a break, it's one of the first places I go to get away.  It's my Calgon and if you don't know the reference there I am either way too old or you are much too young! Anyway, I was looking through Martha Stewart Living and she had a great handmade stamp idea for flowers. Then as I was doing my daily blog hop I saw this from cardstore.com here:

I decided to combine the efforts of both the card above and Martha's handmade cardboard stamp. And while the above cards are waaaaayyyyy cuter than mine, I thought the stamp actually turned out pretty good. To make the stamp, take a cardboard flap from a box, roll it up and tape it together! How easy is that?

I'm definitely no graphic artist or illustrator but my kids and I had fun making the flowers with the cardboard stamp and our fingerprints. Then we just had to eat all the heart candy; crafting can really work up one's appetite. xo

Love Letters

Thursday, February 4, 2010

Let's talk about love. Valentine's Day is coming up ya know. In the blog world it's kind of hard to miss.  There are so many fun posts out there regarding Valentine's. It's got me thinking about all the silly little cards, love notes and love others my husband and I do for one another. You'll notice there are no love letters mentioned. We keep things pretty simplistic around these parts.
Here's a look at a few "love others" we do for one another and some love cards you may want to pick up  this month.
Oh my gosh, the mirror is so dirty here (yuck - sorry!) and the steam from the shower caused the message to run, but it's the only pic I've got of this. I like to leave little love notes in the bathroom with Crayola's Window Markers.
I made this for our six year anniversary. It's a tribute to great pairs, couples, things of two! My guy was very surprised. (The sock monkey was made by my mother-in-law for my oldest. Cute right?)

Long or short, purchased or handmade, it doesn't really matter does it? As long as you have someone to love and love you back! xo

Hearts Abound

Tuesday, February 2, 2010

It's February. The love month or something like that. Whatever the case, love is in the air. I must be honest and tell you that I typically don't fall into the Hallmark trap of celebrating this holiday with anything more than a card, but this year is different. Maybe it's the blog, maybe it's having two amazing little lovey boys that drip with sugar. I don't know, but I'm hooked. So this year I am gonna go all out - all out for me that is.

I found the above craft project over at bkids. So cute. So easy. I was inspired to do a little version of my own with my oldest while the wee one was napping soundly. We got out our craft bin and unloaded the goods: paper and stamp pad. Yup, that's it. And here are the results (along with two messy thumbs)...
I love the end result and I think my little Juders does too! xo
