The Best Day EVER.

Tuesday, July 17, 2012

When I hear the words, "This is the best day ever!" pour from the lips of my littles, I feel like the best Mom ever. All is right in the world - sweets contain zero calories, coffee past 3pm doesn't keep me up at night, and no one is hungry - anywhere. At least that's how it feels to me. My heart melts and I am happy - blissfully happy. What makes for "the best day ever" in the eyes of my guys?

Bible studies that contain random sheep facts - that make us laugh a LOT. Thanks JP.

Meeting and feeding a sweet donkey named Stanley.

Having a long awaited play date with a "Bear".

Mud Monsters with the "Bear."

Outside showers with Ivory clouds. (It's the only way to get rid of the mud monsters.)

Pancakes for dinner.

Scooby-Doo before bed.

Yup, the best day EVER.

Do you know any random sheep facts? xo

  1. I LOVE when the kids say "This is the best day ever!" And I love it when I say, "You say that every time", and they say, "Every day is the best day ever!!"

Lambs form strong bonds with their mothers, and can identify their mother by her bleat. Just one reason I'll have nothing to do with eating lamb!

  2. I grew up on a sheep farm in Scotland so know a little bit about sheep! They not only have strong bonds with their mothers as the above commenter mentioned but they have strong family bonds. The stay together in their little family units and will stay on the same patch of ground forever. Even if they are moved by the farmer for shearing etc, they will return to their own patch of land afterwards. You don't really even need fences to keep them in as they won't wander far.

  3. You guys are so awesome. These are great sheep facts. Did you know that although they are loving, gentle and sweet, they're pretty ummm, how do I put this nicely?...not bright? They have to be led to green pastures, otherwise they will eat not only the grass, but the root too, thereby preventing future growth of the grass and starving themselves if not led to new pastures by their shepherd. Crazy! xo
