Holy block party, Batman! I'm crushin' hard. Have you made anything out of cinder blocks? xo
Reduce, Recuse, Recycle: Cinder Blocks
Wednesday, August 28, 2013
It's no secret that my favorite color is gray or that I love a good lump of bulk trash. Add the two together and it's pure goodness. Last week one of my dear friends texted me, "need any cinder blocks?" She proceeded to tell me that there was a pretty good size score right down the street. How does it get better? She picked them up for me and delivered them to my doorstep. (I've said it before and I'll say it again - I have the best friends ever.) I opted for a cinder block garden piece on my back porch, but there are so many options for cinder blocks, my freebies may morph into something else.

We 'made' an exposed pantry similar to that bookcase in March, then found out 3 weeks later that we were pregnant. :)
ReplyDeleteSo, we're enjoying it for now, but I'm sure in the next year, we'll be figuring something else out since baby will likely pull everything out/bump into the wood corners/cinder blocks. I've wanted to make an herb garden with cinder blocks for over a year- just haven't had the energy to do so yet.
Oh Mandy! Enjoy it while you can! It sounds awesome. Definitely not baby friendly tho. Congrats on your new addition. xo

ReplyDeletejulia - i know, right?! I love it. xo
DeleteI never knew there was so many uses for cinder blocks! Definitely going to try the painted garden idea!
ReplyDeleteYours truly, I know! Me either. Such a wonderful surprise huh? If you try the painted ones, I'd love to see them once you're done. Send me a pic! i'm gonna try those too. xo
