In a past issue of Domino, they ran a story on the home of Domino Editor, Sarah Ruffin-Costello. She had this amazing wallpaper in her husband's office. The print was like that of a peacock tail and paisley all mixed together. Try as I may, I have not been able to find an image of this room online. (If you find it let me know.) It was similar to these below, but with more green. Trust me. It was amazing!
Well, this weekend was a total score for me as I ran to a few garage sales and my local thrifts store. And guess what? I found a pretty cute, kind of 80's wallpaper for under $3.00, along with some amazing fabric, an old carpet bag and a horn!
My images don't do the paper justice, but it's cute. I think it's gonna go in my new "studio." Along with that amazing horn that confuses the heck out of my husband. His words were, "why'd you buy that?" I sir, happen to think it's great! I love the worn/distressed look of it; brass is so appealing to me these days and it makes a great conversation piece. How could I not buy it when it was only a $1.00? The fabrics you see above will be made into Christmas gifts and new Pure and Noble etsy products.
Once the wallpaper is up, I'll be sure to show the final results! Would it be totally ghetto of me to hang it with a staple gun instead of glue? I don't really like to commit to decor. I prefer to change it up - often. I'm off to style a shoot with the hubby! Have a wonderful Monday! How did you spend your weekend?
I can feel your excitment what an awesome find. Seek and you shall find :) I had a similar find in Amsterdam last month and scored some 10 mtr rolls for 5 euros each. Needless to say I grabbed 3 and somehow rammed them into my suitcase! Can't wait to see what you do with it.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently looking everywhere for fabric!!! I LOVE good finds - you've inspired me to get out of my house and go look downtown for awesome fabrics...
ReplyDeleteI love your finds! The horn would make a great addition to Christmas decor, too! I recently bought a blue and white patterned shower curtain and am in the process of making it into a large wall canvas to go with my dark green sofa - I am into dark blue with dark green these days! Cant wait to see your "studio"!!!! ;)
