grateful for being accepted and understood
While working on my etsy shop and spending a lot of time at home, I neglected something. My friends. Unfortunately, in the past month I have heard the following more than once, "You're kind of M.I.A. lately." Ouch. I knew I had been busy and was at home a lot, but I didn't really realize how withdrawn I had become from my girls, my homies. This week, I was purposeful about changing that. My friends are special and I want very much for them to know it! Action items:
* pick up the phone! It seems like a really simple thing to do, but it is hard to sew and hear what is being said. Plus, my friends deserve my full attention.
*let them know their smile fills my heart.
*show them they are on my mind through a text, email, card, or drive-bye hello!
*compliment them - make them feel special.
*schedule time with them - even if it is by way of a playdate (hey, we're all moms, so I'm not the only one toting kiddos with me everywhere.)
*pray for them. They may not know it, but I guarantee you they feel it.
*schedule dinner dates.
*offer apologies and ask for forgiveness for my absence or any hurst caused by it.
Yes, they all understand that I have a lot on my plate right now. But, that is beside the point. My friendships are cherished gifts from the Lord. I intend to let my girlies know how much they mean to me. I think they know and now they feel it - I'm back! But, I also know that if I go "missing" again they will either come find me or have patience for my return. Ladies - I LOVE YOU!
How about you? How do you let your dearest friends know that they are special to you? Do you have any plans this weekend that show the love? I hope you take the time to delight in the treasure of friendship this weekend. Enjoy! xo
Wonderful plan!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like I just may have to do some of the MIA plan myself!
I hope you have a wonderful, blessed weekend:))
I love this! I too have been finding myself a little withdrawn and MIA lately. Blame it on being busy, back to work, baby etc. but the bottom line is that their friendship means a lot to me and I have to remember that and cherish those people.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder!
Thanks for being a great friend! I was so glad to get some great gal pal time with you this week!!! :))))
ReplyDeleteI'm with ya, sista! I've recently been thinking the same thing...and just this morning I sent an email full of love and gratitude to all my dear girlfriends, letting them know how thankful I am for their presence in my life.
ReplyDeleteNow, to make some official plans with those ladies that I hold dear...
