In my dream world...
I would have a delicious, calm, relaxing and styled breakfast everyday
Reality - I don't eat until about 11:00 or 12:00 everyday because these days I seem to think that everything is more important than eating.
I would cook and bake with skill like my friend Rebecca at cake walk
Reality - I cook, but don't do it well at all. I don't really enjoy being in the kitchen. I feel like I'm there all the time.
everyone would be honest and vulnerable like Melissa at design delights
Reality: People like to pretend a lot. "Everything is fine." "I'm fine." "We're good." Maybe it's self preservation, but when I ask someone how they're doing...I really want to know. I care.
I would have the courage and humor needed to decorate my house like Jenny at dos family
Reality: I play it a bit more safe and only dream of painting my hardwood floors white or black and adding pink in 3-4 rooms. I'm pretty sure my husband would have a heart attack.
I'd be drivin' this bad boy!
Reality: I drive a Nissan Murano. I like it fine. She's practical.
we'd live on a farm with some kickin' chickens and I'd homeschool like Molly at mommycoddle
Reality: We live in Dallas, Texas and both my kids will go to public school. Public because we've prayed about it and think that it's the right choice for my oldest (youngest is to be determined). And, because as much as I love being home with them adore their sweet little spirits, this Mommy is not wired for home schooling. It takes a special Mommy. Hats off to all of you heroes out there.
I'd get 10 hours of sleep every single night.
Reality: I go to bed way too late and end up getting only about 6-7 hours. It's beginning to show!
Have a lovely weekend. xo
your reality is not unlike my reality. moms of the world unite.
ReplyDeleteThanks Brooke for sharing my blog here today. I want to make that pizza, it looks absolutely delicious.
ReplyDeleteI homeschooled my son for one year, but it was way late at the end of his 10th grade year and his entire 11th grade year. The reason...he's very social and wasn't doing well in school because he talks to much and was too distracted and he begged me. Yes, it is very hard, but it was worth it for one year because now he is in his 12th grade year at a technical college and getting his highschool diploma along with working toward a degree in Graphic Design and getting the best grades he's ever gotten.
Love the sleep link. Have a wonderful weekend.
Great links Brooke, thank you for reducing the amount of hours I sleep even further!! Oh and my busband would probably commit me if I did anything to our house like Jenny's, her place just rocks.
ReplyDeleteHope your having a great weekend.

Nice discover! I also have a dream world , but my real life is pretty much the same than yours!
ReplyDeleteThere sometimes seems like not enough hours in the day, to accomplish what you'd like and do the things that you dream of... but you certainly could bake and cook if you start off slowly! Children love to help in the kitchen, as well - usually.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention! Hope you have a lovely Sunday afternoon!
