Dear Anonymous...

Thank you so much for your comment found here. You may never come back to Pure and Noble, but in the off chance that you do, I wanted to write to you. You are right, sometimes blogs seem to suck up so much time that they take away from life: family, friends, etc. However, there is a very pleasant reverse to that and it's exactly what I wanted to share with you.

I am a follower of Jesus Christ and as such, I am called to disciple the hearts of others and serve everyone. I have the glorious opportunity to do just that as a stay-at-home Mommy.  I shepherd the hearts of my two boys daily and get to serve them and others in more ways than I ever thought possible. It is a rewarding and hard job. In fact, it is the best and most important job I've ever had in my life. And while I love my job, it requires a big balance; one where I have to pour into myself in order to be able to pour into those around me. Enter the blog...

Pure and Noble is my outlet. My "me" time. It is my opportunity to do and share the things that excite me. Things that God has gifted me with in the area of creativity. Pure and Noble has allowed me to meet new people all over the world. I have been able to share my faith with believers and non-believers that I otherwise would have never met. I get to write, create, inspire, design and many more things through this blog. I feel very blessed to have the followers and readers that visit me here. Bloggers have a very strong community bond that is a blessing to have received in addition to all the other gifts presented through Pure and Noble.

Now, as I said on the post in which you commented, if I ever lose sight of my faith, family, community, or friends and stop making them a priority... blogging stops. That has yet to happen and so the blogging continues. In conjunction, I continue to love the Lord my God with all my heart, love my family well, fellowship with friends and serve often.  Thanks again for your comment. I do hope you will return. xo

  2. Your reply to that anonymous comment is so much nicer than mine would have been! Perhaps "anonymous's" time would be better spent with family and "real friends" rather than posting slightly offensive comments on strangers' blogs!!!

  3. Thrifted Treasure - I think she just doesn't know the world of blogs. Why people do them, what they can offer, how they can be good and a blessing. It's not that she/he was trying to be rude at all. There is just an unknown there and we can't expect people to understand what is unknown to them. That's where we get to step in and open their eyes to a whole new world! I love it! xo

  4. I saw that comment and was really thrown off by Anon's boldness and what I thought was rudeness. but truth is, you're probably right! it's probably more just ignorance of how great the community of blogging is. it sure can be a time suck for me, but as far as hobbies go, I could be doing a lot worse! ;)

  5. A lovely, honest post Brooke, one of the many reasons I so enjoy your blog. I really relate to your reasons for blogging - I first began my blog when I had a 5 month old baby and found myself needing a bit of 'me time' whilst she was sleeping, something to give me and outlet to be a bit creative, use my mind and connect with others. Blogging definitely helps me achieve this and has led me to meet so many amazing like-minded people. I'm happy to hear that blogging has offered you the same experience. I too think that I gain so much (ideas, inspiration, support) from others' blog and hope that mine might offer something to a reader one day. You have inspired me with various posts you have done and Pure and Noble continues to be one of my favourite reads xx
