Well homies, it's here. Summer. I don't know if I should be excited or terrified. Don't get me wrong, summer is a TON of fun with no commitments, no 7:00am wake-up calls and lots of time by the pool. But when you have two littles, it's also a lot of work. As of today, I have one little out for the summer and one out in two weeks. I gotta get ready. (Do you hear it? The Rocky theme song in the background?) Yeah, this is serious stuff. No more toe-tappin' whimpy business; it's time to drink raw eggs and strap on my gloves.
In my mommy world, training looks more like scouring blogland and Pinterest for the best of the best summer activities and making a plan. I did a small test run this week with legos, a picnic at the lake, and fun brain-busters (diy eye-spy and alpha paint).
Can you tell I got totally swept up in the Lego bit? Oh my gosh, I don't think I've ever had that much fun with teeny plastic blocks. Awesome-sauce! This week probably would have been a bit more successful had the boys not been sick and Mrs. PMS not reared her ugly head...but, we survived! I can tell that summer will take a lot more planning. (Something I kinda suck at.) Oh well, if I want to survive, I will PLAN. If you want to follow my Pinterest board for some summer survival of your own, find it here. Happy Weekend Y'all. xo
