Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: Embroidery Hoops

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Last week I shared some embroidery "art" that inspired me and made me laugh. Today I'll show you why I even began looking at embroidery hoops in the first place. They're not just for embroidery! From homemade mobiles to wall art, embroidery hoops are taking on a whole new look.

Although I couldn't find an exact example of this, I've also seen embroidery hoops spray-painted and hung on walls as art like the Wallter circles. It's lovely. The possibilities are endless.

I just love finding new uses for old things. The best part about embroidery hoops is that they can be found at really reasonable prices. Check your local thrifts stores, garage sales and estate sales for the best deals. Do you have any recycle ideas? I'd love to hear from you and see some pics. 1. Oh, how much do I love the fabric hoops in the bathroom and the light blue nursery. Great finds, might put a few up around the house. Great way to use fabric remnants.
