How I Wore It: Chevron Dress

Thursday, July 18, 2013

I love this dress. Simple. Edgy. Chic. Comfortable. But in Texas, a short little sweater dress just isn't gonna happen. Never mind. I know there is a little dress out there that can fit the bill for hot Texas heat and budget friendly prices. So when I go thrift shopping, I have various things in mind and always have a running catalog of images in the back of my head. This dress was one of those "back of my mind" items.  And a few weeks back I found it. Among a sea of floral, brass buttons and pleats lay a cute black and cream chevron dress. I grabbed it for a mere $5.00 and it even had the original price tags still on it ($50).
No, it's not exact, but for five bucks I'll take it. I love it. Dressed up or down, sleeves rolled up or down with sandals, heels or sneaks, this dress is easy and comfortable...
The moral of this story (and this series)... you can dress fashionably AND affordably. Be willing to dig. Don't limit yourself. Think outside the box. Most importantly, be yourself and have fun. You don't have to go into debt to fill your closet with items that look good and make you feel great.

Do you have a favorite summer dress? xo
