Three Wisemen

Tuesday, December 13, 2011

They do look wise don't they? I love my little gifted collection of owls. These are but a few of the wise guys sitting around our house. Funny thing is... I haven't purchased a single one on my own. When Jude was a baby he had this little puppet owl that he loved - he chewed on his beak. Ever since "Hootie" our collection has grown.

Oh... one more thing. I've been following this reading plan of the bible with the boys every night. It's a great way to count down the days of December until the birth of Christ. We've learned so much about Christ's character. This is definitely a new tradition for us. So fun and a great reminder of why we celebrate Christmas. xo

Size Matters

...when it comes to coffee cups!

Vintage coffee cups are so pretty to look at, but when it comes to coffee...I need a JUMBO size cup. Those teeny little lovelies from the 50's and 60's just won't cut it, unless I want to got back for 2 or 3 refills. No thanks. So what does one do with all that vintage goodness in this coffee version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears?
JUMBO (with a side of dainty berries)

I have a few ideas for my teensy weensy collections...
ice cream (the handle helps you tip it to get every last bit of delicious cream!)

berries (with or without yogurt and granola)

games!

Sometimes necessity is the Mother of all inventions. I had to work on some projects yesterday and wanted to give the littles something to do indoors. My youngest was already playing with the clothespins... why not add beans/rice, teeny coffee cups and a timer?  Instant fun filled game with lots of giggles. Whoever fills their cup the most in 5 minutes, using only the clothespins, is the winner!

Ahhh, the teeny coffee cup has been saved. Oh yeah, they also work great for centerpieces with flowers and tealights. I'll keep my jumbo cups for my morning cup of sanity. xo

His & Hers: A Love Story

Monday, February 7, 2011

You know you're gonna get some sappy love stuff this week at Pure and Noble right? Well, let's kick things off with a Valentine's edition of His and Hers. These are the first Valentine card the hubs and I ever gave each other AND it's the first time he ever told me he loved me! Sighhh.

I've saved every Valentine card he's given me. (He's a man a few words. I gotta save what I get!) I'll give him this though...the man makes me laugh.  And... well... he's HOT!

Are you playing along with me and Alli? Show us whatcha got! We love knowing who's in this with us and what you're sharing. xo

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: Pyrex

Wednesday, October 27, 2010

I'm pretty sure my disdain for plastic is known to most of you. If not, here's the skinny: I don't like it at all. Not only does it leak toxic chemicals into our food, but it stains, warps and melts. On top of everything else - it's UGLY! Why, oh why, did we ever stop using Pyrex? Because it was glass? Come on. Really?  Look at how pretty this stuff is/was.

Was it Tupperware that started the transition? Ziploc? Whatever the case, thanks to my Grandmother-in-law and my Mother-in-law, I'm going back to glass in style. One piece at a time! One piece because, this is what Pyrex looks like now:

I know it's not the most convenient thing to store snacks in glass... why not try fabric and oilcloth baggies? I know of some really cute ones. {wink wink}

How about you?  What are you storing your food in these days? xo

 knucklehead

jarrandale, caveman club, turk's turban, lumina

Big D Arbo, you have truly outdone yourself this year. Thank you. Thank you.

Hey, dear readers - if you could name the "mini orange pumpkin" what would it be? xo

Weekly Challenge: Get My Etsy Shop Up and Running

Friday, October 15, 2010

Success! My Esty shop is finally up! See that little machine in the background? She has been hard at work every time my kids nap or go on a run with their Daddy. The end result is one Pure and Noble shop ready for sales and a very tired family. I had no idea it would be so much work. Goodness. My hat goes off to everyone out there that has an Etsy shop and/or job while working full time as a Mommy. Kuddos!

Here's a look at some of the things you can expect to find in the shop.

I'd love for you to stop by the shop for a look-see and let me know what you think!

PS - A special shout out goes to my best homie Cricket Jeter for all her help and support with the shop! Plus it's her birthday! Happy Birthday Homie! I love you! xx

PSS - it's the weekend! I'm pretty sure we'll be riding our bikes, sewing, napping, hitting some estate sales, loving on friends over dinner and trying desperately to clear out our garage a bit. How about you? Do you have any big plans? xo

Sneak Peek...

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

Wanna take a look at some of the things that I've been working on for my Etsy shop? Okay!

Just a few snippets to peak your interest. We are planning on opening October 1st! This is a ton of work dear readers. I had no idea. I praise the Lord for a wonderfully loving, patient, helpful and uber talented husband; two amazing boys who entertain themselves quite well and love playing with buttons; and loads of supportive friends. xo
