Spring Market

Thursday, April 3, 2014

I'm a big fan of public school, so when our PTA asked me to be a part of their Spring Market to help raise funds for their classes I was all in. My days and nights have consisted of sewing and crafting to get ready for the event. If you're in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area... come shop and say, "hi." I will have a lot of stuff that's in my Etsy shop and a bunch of new items as well. All of my bibs are discounted in hopes of clearing out some inventory. I'm strongly considering closing my Etsy shop... I just don't have the traffic and sales there that I did previously. Honestly, I just think there's too much product on there now and many shops get lost in the chaos.

A few of my new items include the owl mobiles seen above and new pillows like the reversible "Good Day/Night Night" one below.
For those of you wondering where I got the idea for my booth backdrop, take a look at the yarn backdrop seen over at Green Wedding Shoes. Amazing. I might do a tutorial on this soon because it would look awesome over a bed or crib and it's super easy.

Come see me and get some shopping done this Saturday at Wallace Elementary's Spring Market in Lake Highlands from 10am to 5pm. There's no entrance fee and there are a ton of great vendors. Until then, I'll be at Round Top with my sister... she's kidnapping me. xo

Spring Cleaning

Thursday, March 6, 2014

Grab your dusters and your wallets. Tag and Tibby, on etsy, is having a Spring Cleaning sale to clear out her basement and make room for new stuff. Julia, of Tag and Tibby, sort of has an addiction to old things and thrifting. Just like me. I'm so glad we don't live in the same city. We'd be fighting over the same stuff.
I want to do this, to all of her postcards!
Seriously, go check it out. Julia has a great eye and something for everyone. And everything's 25% off. That's some cleaning I can actually enjoy! xo

NEW In the Shop

Tuesday, November 12, 2013

You guys... I'm so excited to share my new holiday items with you! How about some throw pillows to add a little Christmas joy to your annual decor? You know how I like to change things up with a good throw pillow. It's like an instant makeover for under $50.00.
Also, I'm pretty sure that winter has hit almost everywhere except Texas. If you and your littles are already bundling up in layer after layer (insert jealous grimace here) then a southwestern print knit cowl for your little may be just what's needed to keep the cold at bay. I gotta tell ya, this thing is so cozy I just might make one for myself. Nothing makes me colder than a cold neck and since mine is almost equal in length to a giraffe, I've gotta keep that thing wrapped up.

Are you getting that holiday giddiness yet? Or are you already dreading it? xo

And... We're Open for Business!

Wednesday, October 30, 2013

Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Why is it that the most exciting moments in life seem to take forever to arrive? After a lot of prep and sewing, the shop is finally up with just a few goodies!

We will be adding a lot more stuff over the new couple of weeks. Now that it's made, there's the shooting, editing, listing, etc. I can't wait to show you guys more!!! Until then, we'll be trick or treating, eating our weight in candy corn and bite-size candy bars, and taking expanding our belts a notch or two.

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on some peanut butter cups. What's your favorite Halloween Treat? xo

Lost in Art: A Giveaway

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

As you know, I don't do many giveaways. I have to love the product, the person that makes it or both. Today's giveaway fits in the "both" category. Hannah of Lost in Art (wedding mentioned here, Dad mentioned here) is a dear family friend and very talented. And she super young, which kinda pisses me off, but I overlook it because she's just so dang adorable - and she's teaching me how to crochet. ha!

Hannah likes to dip her creative fingers in just about every medium. My favorites are her paintings, her crocheted scarves, coffee koozies and her cut-off jean freedom shorts (look for more of those closer to 4th of July). Today, we'll keep our focus on the crocheted scarves. Why? Because we're giving the featured green one away to one of you lucky readers. Why did I choose the scarf? Because I kinda have a thing for scarves. It may be because my neck is like that of a giraffe's or because if my neck isn't covered by a scarf in the Fall and Winter, I freeze my buns off. (Maybe that goes back to the long giraffe neck - hmm?)

All you have to do to win this lovely green neck koozie is go to Hannah's Lost in Art etsy shop and then tell me your favorite item in the comment box below! It's that simple. Good luck.

Hey Hannah, when you gonna sell some of your amazing paintings? xo

Grey Skies Blue

Thursday, July 19, 2012

Y'all know the last thing I want be is a pusher. You know...this is cool, you should buy it, kind of thing. But, I recently stumbled upon this little Texas lady that creates all sorts of cute goodies for her etsy shop, Grey Skies BlueLike really cute personalized goodies that make great gifts for any and every occasion. And Ok, I didn't really stumble upon her, my dear friend Mindi told me about her because they live in the same building. Say what? How do I not know this girl? I gotta fix that ASAP.

gender reveal party pins - seriously? i'm dying over here. why didn't i think of this?
gender reveal cupcake toppers - that's it...i'm dead.

How can it get cuter and more awesome than all of that? How about a Christmas in July sale where you get 20% off everything! What the? Yeah, I know... she's rad. Katie - I must meet you! NOW!

When I was pregnant with my first, we kept it a secret until the shower. How about you? Did you tell or wait for a reveal? xo

Breathless

Thursday, September 1, 2011

Amazing images right? It gets better...they were taken by my amazingly talented husband. I love his eye for color and composition. It's always fascinated me. He took these images while on a shoot in Egypt last month and I am one smitten kitten. Our living and dining room walls are a soothing dark grey and I would love to have one of the last two images blown up BIG, printed on canvas, hanging above our dining table. Sigghhh.  Babe, if you're reading this...Christmas is just around the corner, right along with my birthday. wink. wink.

So you might be wondering, "Is she just showing us these images to brag on her husband?" Well, yes and no. Here's where it gets good for you guys. These prints will be available at Pure and Noble when we open up shop again in mid-September. I'm so excited. xo

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: Ziplock Baggies

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

I know. This isn't really earth shattering news, but now that my little has a lunch packed for him every single day... well, I felt compelled. I have long been a hater of the wretched ziplock baggie. For the record, why the heck can't they make those things recyclable? Anyway, I'm really enjoying the baggies I made for Jude's lunches and will be making more soon. I got to thinkin' about all you ladies out there who might not know how to sew or have the time. Here's a list of some pretty great snack bags that you can grab for a steal!

This one has a clip for diaper bags and those little stinkers that think they're so clever learning the "pick-up" game.

It's time we ditched those plastic numbers. Agreed? Happy lunching. xo

PS - this blog is absolutely adorable for lunch ideas. This momma has creativity out the yang.

Around the House: Work, Work, Work.

Today I am knee deep in thread, fabric, notions and happy feelings! Come on Monday... no whammies, broken needles, or seam ripping! xo

Inspired to Create.

Thursday, July 14, 2011

A little random and a tad bit scattered, this is what's inspiring my Fall collection for Pure and Noble. Ohhh...I'm getting excited.

Can't wait to give you guys a sneak peak. xo

So...Sew!

Tuesday, May 17, 2011

Here's a sneak peek at what me and my little sewing machine have been doing lately!

The yellow and striped tote/diaper bag at the top was a gift for a friend whose in the midst of adopting! Now I have to decide if I want to sell them or keep them for myself. Ugghh. Decisions. Decisions. xo
